Here's a similar one that uses chocolate chips instead of cocoa:
No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies 1 stick margarine 1/2 cup milk 2 cups sugar 1 cup chocolate chips 3-4 tablespoons peanut butter, optional 3 cups oatmeal 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Place chocolate chips, peanut butter (if used), oatmeal, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Combine the margarine, milk, and sugar in a saucepan; bring to a rolling boil. Boil for 1 minute. Combine the hot mixture with the oatmeal mixture; stir well. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.

Ingredients: 1 stick (1/2 c.) butter 1/2 c. cocoa 2 c. sugar 1/2 c. milk 3 c. quick oats 1/2 c. peanut butter 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions: Combine butter, cocoa, sugar and milk in a large saucepan; stir and simmer until bubbles form around the edge of the saucepan, and mixture appears smoothly blended. Remove from heat. Add oats, peanut butter, and vanilla. Stir thoroughly. Drop by rounded Tablespoonful on waxed paper; cool. Store in a container in a cool place. Place container in refrigerator, if storing for a considerable time. It's a nice compromise between nutrition and Chocolate Cravings!

i mail them to my son's.. if you make them but eliminate the oatmeal, and beat it until it loses most of it's gloss after cooking- then spread it into buttered pan.. you make fudge just like the old fashioned hershey's cocoa fudge. it's not a creamy fudge- it's a great fudge- i make both often.. hugs

i still think it turns out the same as hershey's old fashioned fudge.. i know the recipe for these with and without oatmeal by heart.. i don't have a candy thermometor- i go by minutes ans texture..for length of cooking times.
