nice lookin' plants bill mine look terrible,like they are in a state of slow decay. i cant qiute figure it out i have 2 in a large wooden box (about 2'x 2') good soil and drainage but the leafs are all yellow and brown an no flowers any more. bought a new one the other day plan to put it right in the ground too see what happens. wish me luck

Did the soil in the planter box freeze hard? Your Primula may still come back to life... (I've got a few "ugly" ones too, but I never show the pictures of them!)

HEY BILL I THINK IT MAY HAVE FROZEN HARD I HAD LAYER UPON LAYER OF LEAVES AND HAY AND ANYTHING I COULD FIND TO HELP KEEP IT INSULATED THRU THE WINTER(why i didn't bring it in the house for the winter i don't know )

Around mid-June I decided to set out some primulas to fill in a couple of spaces along my border's path.
The one I selected to divide is a yellow one like the one here:
...And it's about three or four years old:
At the end of July, the divisions looked okay.
they're now mulched and should winter over nicely:
I managed to set out about a dozen plants, and figure they'll bloom year after next.

I have a primulas that I planted about 4 years ago. My husband picked it out so I really wanted it to succeed. It bloomed the first 2 years, but nothing since. It`s in the shade, but I wondering if it is too deep of a shady area? Help! Sue
