These pictures are awesome. Cindy, I didn't see that. You forgot to show it to me or I missed it one. Oh, it may have been when I quit smoking and wouldn't come around for awhile... [Big Grin]

I am attempting to grow some, but don't have much luck. This guy has given me a couple more (he has many many orchids in his house) and I am patiently awaiting some blooms.

Melcon, I haven't seen pink ladyslippers since I was a child, whenever we lived in the boonies. Those are beautiful. Are they growing right around your house? I have looked for them whenever I've been hiking around here, but I guess haven't been out at the right time.

Yes, Leslie they are growing on my property in the woods in the back of the house. There are hundreds of them and they bloom in the middle of June. Some I can see right from my window. Rarer are the yellow ones, but I've only heard of those being further north. [thumb] [Smile]

A couple of years ago there was a little green worm/caterpillar eating them up and although I'm mostly organic I did dust them with chemicals because I can't lose them !! I've made a nice path through the woods so that I can take people out there but not disturb them. [Smile]

omg i love orchids!!! I can't ever get them to flower for me though [Frown] I always try my best to get the right conditions, but college dorms in a shady window that faces sunrise doesn't seem to work >.< I remember i got this one pretty Paph. and i couldn't wait for it to flower ^.^ the bud got bigger and bigger, and then i bought it! I looked at it on the way home in the car... the thing that was holding the stem to the bamboo stick had cut the stem to the flower!! [Mad] GRRRRR! I really wanted that one too [Frown]

*hops* but its growing a whole new set of leaves off to the side of it so that's all good ^.^ My dendrobodum and other P word one seem to have frozen in time though... though my P word one is growing an air root, and lost a lower leave... so i donno lol. I just want a flowering plant that'll flower >.<
