As far as the first one....mine is a baby yet!

Is it planted on a mound with several babies or is all that from one cacti and doing the mounding itself???? [dunno]

That is a single cactus plant. It's called "clustering".

I am, those plants are cute!!
Little round little balls,
Oh, I know that they'd hurt,
But, the way they are formed,
Nice structure..
I know these aren't cactus's,
but I have the cobwebbing hens~n~chicks...
Sort of that effect...
I can't grow them here like you guys can,
Can't get attached to them! [Eek!]
